Regular Season Round 7: Kanazawa - Shinagawa 72-64
Date: October 23, 2022
Bottom-ranked Shinagawa (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 72-64 loss to eleventh ranked Kanazawa (3-5) in Ishikawa on Sunday evening. It was a great evening for Ukrainian forward Oleksandr Antypov (203-1995, agency: BIG) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Yugo Okuda (176-1999) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Kanazawa players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward AJ Bramah (201-1999, college: Nevada) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds and Yuto Sasaki (186-1998) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Shinagawa's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Kanazawa moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Shanan Utd and Veertien Mie. Shinagawa lost their eighth game in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. Kanazawa will meet Gifu (#14) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Shinagawa will play against Yokohama EX and hopes to get finally their first victory.
