Regular Season Round 10: NLEX RW - SM Beermen 116-124

Very important is a home loss of third ranked NLEX RW (3-3) against eleventh ranked SM Beermen (2-3) on Sunday night. Host NLEX RW was defeated by SM Beermen in a tough game in Makati City 116-124. SM Beermen players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Devon Scott (206-1994, college: Dayton) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Naturalized American swingman Marcio Lassiter (190-1987, college: CS Fullerton) contributed with 22 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American Earl Clark (208-1988, college: Louisville) replied with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 25 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks and center Justin Chua (198-1989) added 23 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for NLEX RW. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains eleventh position with 2-3 record. NLEX RW at the other side dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. SM Beermen will play against higher ranked North Port (#7) in Pasig City in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. NLEX RW will have a break next round.
