Regular Season Round 5: Chiba - Kagawa FA 75-66

Very predictable result when second ranked Chiba (5-2) defeated at home 7th ranked Kagawa FA (1-6) 75-66 on Saturday. Chiba dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Kagawa FA's 32. The best player for the winners was American Brandon Ashley (206-1994, college: Arizona) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Guard Kei Sugimoto (182-1992) chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Australian center Angus Brandt (208-1989, college: Oregon St.) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and British forward Myles Hesson (198-1990, agency: Octagon Europe) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kagawa FA's coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Chiba have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Chiba maintains second place with 5-2 record behind leader Ehime OV, which they share with Nagasaki. Kagawa FA lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Fukushima. Chiba will again meet at home Kagawa FA (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kagawa FA will have a break next round.
