Regular Season Round 6: Shizuoka - Veertien Mie 87-55

Fifth ranked Shizuoka (6-1) crushed at home 7th ranked Veertien Mie (3-4) by 32 points 87-55, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. Shizuoka forced 20 Veertien Mie turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Argentinian forward Alexis Elsener (195-1988, agency: Interperformances) who scored 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-1994, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Elsener is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Shizuoka players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Josh Martin (201-1995, college: Santa Clara) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Tucker Haymond (198-1994, college: W.Michigan) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shizuoka have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Iwate. Veertien Mie lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Tokyo HT. Shizuoka will again meet at home Veertien Mie (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Veertien Mie will have a break next round.
