Regular Season Round 7: Hitachi SRT - Shimane SM 79-95
Date: October 22, 2022
The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Hitachi SRT (4-3) in Tokyo. Hosts were defeated by Shimane SM (6-1) 95-79. Shimane SM players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for forward Perrin Buford (198-1994, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 30 points, 17 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 blocks (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!). Forward Reid Travis (203-1995, college: Kentucky, agency: Pensack Sports) helped adding 17 points and 8 rebounds. Four Shimane SM players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Kevin Jones (206-1989, college: WVU) responded with 24 points and 7 rebounds and forward James McAdoo (206-1993, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Shimane SM have a solid series of three victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Ryukyu GK lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position which they share with defeated Hitachi SRT. Hitachi SRT at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost. They share the position with Alvark Tokyo and San-en NP. Shimane SM will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hitachi SRT will play again at home against the league's second-placed Shimane SM and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
