The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Al Riyadi as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Al Riyadi defeated bottom-ranked Hoops in Beirut 98-80. Al Riyadi made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Michael Qualls (197-1994, college: Arkansas) fired a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Hayk Gyokchyan (203-1990, college: F&M) chipped in 21 points. Four Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. American guard Chris Scott (203-1995, college: Central St.) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists and his fellow American import power forward Julian Scott (203-1990, college: ASU) added 27 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Hoops' coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Al Riyadi have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 3 other teams. Hoops at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Homentmen and Byblos.
