Regular Season Round 5: Kumamoto V. - Saga B. 75-77

The most exciting game of round 5 in the B2 League took place in Kumamoto. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd placed Kumamoto V. (4-3) to fifth ranked Saga B. (4-3) 77-75 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kumamoto V.. Saga B. dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kumamoto V.'s 26. Cuban guard Reynaldo Garcia (187-1990) stepped up and scored 13 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals for the winners and American Chase Fieler (202-1992, college: FGCU) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. Four Saga B. players scored in double figures. American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-1987, college: Georgia) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import center Jamel McLean (202-1988, college: Xavier) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Saga B. moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Kumamoto V. Saga B. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kumamoto V. will play again at home against Saga B. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
