Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Toyama G. (1-6) lost on the road to second ranked Gunma CT (5-2) 86-73 on Saturday. Gunma CT looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Toyama G.'s players. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-1990, college: Miami, FL) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 8 assists. Naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-1981, college: Evergreen St.) accounted for 8 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winning side. American center Joshua Smith (208-1992, college: Georgetown) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Cody Demps (193-1993, college: Sacramento St.) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Toyama G. in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gunma CT keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Toyama G. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Niigata A.. Gunma CT will again meet at home Toyama G. (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
