Regular Season Round 4: Barsy Atyr. - Astana Tigers 38-93

D1 top team - Astana Tigers (4-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Barsy Atyr. (0-5) in Atyrau 93-38. Astana Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Barsy Atyr.'s 18. Astana Tigers forced 27 Barsy Atyr. turnovers and outrebounded them 70-26 including a 32-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Astana Tigers players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Barsy Atyr.'s players. The winners were led by forward Anastasia Knaub (184-2005) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 48 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and power forward Yuliya Shakhova (183-2004) supported her with 9 points and 22 rebounds. Even 18 points by guard Vera Pak (170-2005) did not help to save the game for Barsy Atyr.. Guard Asel Mugasheva (170-2007) added 3 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Astana Tigers have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory Astana Tigers went down to second position due to points difference, which they share with Irtysh and Tomiris. Newly promoted Barsy Atyr. still closes the standings with five games lost. Astana Tigers will play against league's leader Turan in Turkistan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Barsy Atyr. will play on the road against Karaganda (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
