Regular Season Round 4: Gifu - Shizuoka 75-98
Date: October 15, 2022
Very predictable result when sixth ranked Shizuoka (4-1) outscored on the road 12th ranked Gifu (1-4) 98-75 on Saturday. Shizuoka looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian forward Alexis Elsener (195-1988, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Kenny Lawson (207-1988, college: Creighton) who added 15 points and 4 assists during the contest. Elsener is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Shizuoka players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Jerrell Wright (204-1991, college: La Salle) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Noah Dahlman (202-1989, college: Wofford) scored 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shizuoka have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Gifu keeps the twelfth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Shizuoka will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gifu will play again against Shizuoka (#5) and hope to win that game.
