Regular Season Round 5: Yokohama BC - Nagoya DD 84-91
Date: October 15, 2022
Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Yokohama BC (1-4) was defeated at home by second ranked Nagoya DD (4-1) 91-84 on Saturday. Nagoya DD looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-1995) who scored 20 points and 7 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). American power forward Scott Eatherton (206-1991, college: Northeastern, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Charles Jackson (208-1993, college: Tenn Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import Devin Oliver (204-1992, college: Dayton) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Nagoya DD keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Yokohama BC dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Nagoya DD will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Yokohama BC will play again against the league's second-placed Nagoya DD (#2) and hope to win that game.
