Regular Season Round 3: Nishinomiya S. - Kumamoto V. 85-83

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Hyogo where Kumamoto V. (2-2) was edged by Nishinomiya S. (2-2) 85-83 on Sunday. Nishinomiya S. made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American forward DeQuan Jones (203-1990, college: Miami, FL) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Point guard Noriaki Dohara (178-1989) helped adding 17 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Four Nishinomiya S. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-1987, college: Georgia) with 34 points (!!!) and 8 assists and British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-1995, college: WKU) scored 4 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Nishinomiya S. will meet Tokyo Z (#7) on the road in the next round. Kumamoto V. will play against Kagawa FA (#7) in Takamatsu and hope to secure a win.
