Regular Season Round 3: Nagoya DD - Ryukyu GK 94-72
Date: October 8, 2022
Nagoya DD used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Okinawa 94-72 on Saturday night. Nagoya DD dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Ryukyu GK's 28. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Nagoya DD looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Nagoya DD made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-1995) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 6 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American power forward Scott Eatherton (206-1991, college: Northeastern, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Nagoya DD players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Jack Cooley (206-1991, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) with 15 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import power forward Josh Duncan (203-1986) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nagoya DD will again meet at home Ryukyu GK (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Ryukyu GK will have a break next round.
