Regular Season Round 5: Bay Area D. - FiberXers 106-100
Date: October 7, 2022
No shocking result in a game when leader Bay Area D. (4-0) beat 7th ranked FiberXers (1-2) in Hong Kong 106-100 on Friday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Bay Area D. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Myles Powell (188-1997, college: Seton Hall) nailed 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds for the winning side and British-Canadian guard Glen Yang (193, college: Mount Royal) accounted for 23 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Bay Area D. players scored in double figures. American forward Quincy Miller-Scott (206-1992, college: Baylor) came up with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Abu Jahal Tratter (196-1993) added 7 points and 9 rebounds respectively for FiberXers in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Bay Area D. have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Bay Area D. maintains first place with 4-0 record. Loser FiberXers dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. They share it with Meralco Bolts. Bay Area D. will meet Ginebra Kings (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. FiberXers will have a break next round.
