Regular Season Round 2: Kanazawa - Tachikawa 52-60

There was a surprise result when Tachikawa beat Kanazawa in Ishikawa 60-52 on Sunday. American forward Scott Blakney (203-1998, college: Montana) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import forward Tristin Walley (201-1996, college: Arkansas St., agency: One Motive Sports) supported him with 6 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds by Ukrainian forward Oleksandr Antypov (203-1995, agency: BIG) did not help to save the game for Kanazawa. Swingman Kakeru Kanakubo (191-1997) added 8 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Kanazawa's coach Hidesuke Kuroshima rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Tachikawa will meet Okayama on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kanazawa will play against Shizuoka and hope to win that game.
