The most surprising game was a loss of Ginebra Kings (0-1) in Manila on Wednesday night. Hosts were rolled over by Rain or Shine (1-1) 93-71. Strangely Ginebra Kings outrebounded Rain or Shine 56-41 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Steve Taylor Jr (206-1993, college: Toledo) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Leonard Santillan (195-1996) helped adding 15 points. The best for the losing side was American forward Justin Brownlee (197-1988, college: St.John's) with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Jamie Malonzo scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rain or Shine are looking forward to face Terrafirma Dyip (#13) in Makati City in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ginebra Kings' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Manila to the arena Meralco Bolts.
