Regular Season Round 8: Xin Hua - Hornets 60-82

The most interesting game of round 8 was a home defeat of 3rd ranked Xin Hua (6-2) by second ranked Hornets (7-1) who outscored them by 22 points 82-60 in the game for the second place. It ended the six-game winning streak of Xin Hua. Hornets dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Xin Hua's 30. They outrebounded Xin Hua 49-32 including a 36-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Kelvin Lim-Hong who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Malaysian Russell Low-Wen who added 10 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Hornets players scored in double figures. Isaac Low responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and Terry Lua-jun scored 3 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hornets maintains second position with 7-1 record having just one point less than leader Adroit. Xin Hua at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Siglap. Hornets are looking forward to face league's leader Adroit in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Xin Hua's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Singapore Siglap.
