Regular Season Round 5: Tong Whye - Tagawa 66-53

Bottom-ranked Tagawa (0-7) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to fifth ranked Tong Whye (4-3) 66-53. Tong Whye outrebounded Tagawa 50-38 including 36 on the defensive glass. Wooi Khaw-Yeong nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 19 rebounds for the winning side and Sashi Pillay accounted for 9 points and 13 rebounds. Jie Ho-Lian came up with 12 points and 6 rebounds and Manaf Ridzuan added 4 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Tagawa in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tong Whye moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Siglap. Tagawa at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Hoops. Tong Whye's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Singapore to the arena Xin Hua.
