Second Stage Round 2: Devil Rays - Hitech 96-104

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Devil Rays at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by Hitech 104-96. Hitech dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Devil Rays' 30. They outrebounded Devil Rays 56-38 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international power forward Chanatip Jakrawan (204-1997) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds. The former international point guard Nattakarn Muangboon (180-1991) contributed with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Hitech's coach Manid Niyomyindee used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International Moses Morgan (198-1992, college: CS Fullerton) replied with 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and American point guard Taishaun Johnson (183-1994, college: PVAMU) added 22 points, 15 assists and 5 steals in the effort for Devil Rays. Four Devil Rays players scored in double figures. Hitech are looking forward to face SWU in the next round where they are favorite. Devil Rays will play against Bangkok Tigers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
