Regular Season Round 6: Catfish - Dragons 71-75

Dragons has finally registered their first victory this season after six consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Can Tho, where they defeated Catfish (1-6) 75-71. Dragons forced 21 Catfish turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American point guard Ed Horton (186-1985, college: Murray St.) notched 21 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and the other American import point guard Dominique Grant (183-1989, college: Bellevue) supported him with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Horton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 27 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks by American center DeAngelo Hamilton (203-1990, college: WSU) did not help to save the game for Catfish. Guard Bueno Castilo (180-1999) added 15 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dragons left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Catfish. It was Catfish's sixth loss in a row. Dragons will play against higher ranked Warriors (#5) in Hanoi in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Catfish will play at home against the league's second-placed Wings to get more than just one victory in their record.
