Everything could happen in Pasig City at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Hotshots and 5th ranked Meralco Bolts had identical 5-3 record. This time Hotshots used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Manila 97-88 on Friday night. Hotshots forced 21 Meralco Bolts turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hotshots made 7 blocks. Point guard Jiovani Jalalon (175-1992) scored 19 points and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Andy Barroca (176-1988) chipped in 20 points, 6 assists and 5 steals during the contest.
