Regular Season Round 11: Rain or Shine - Meralco Bolts 73-77

There was no surprise in Manila where 11th ranked Rain or Shine (1-6) was defeated by seventh ranked Meralco Bolts (4-3) 77-73 on Wednesday. It was a great evening for forward Aaron Black who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 assists. Center Raymond Almazan (206-1989) helped adding 10 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Meralco Bolts players scored in double figures. Naturalized American swingman Gabe Norwood (196-1985, college: GMU) responded with 13 points and 9 rebounds and Beau Belga (198-1986) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Meralco Bolts moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hotshots. Rain or Shine lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with six games lost. Meralco Bolts will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rain or Shine will play against NLEX RW (#7) in Makati City and hope to win that game.
