The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Hitachi SRT's (32-25) road loss to fourth ranked Chiba Jets (34-9) 65-70 on Saturday. Chiba Jets outrebounded Hitachi SRT 50-30 including a 36-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward John Mooney (206-1998, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Josh Duncan (203-1986) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 18 rebounds. Forward Kevin Jones (206-1989, college: WVU) produced 30 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Josh Harrellson (208-1989, college: Kentucky) added 7 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 34-9 record. Loser Hitachi SRT keeps the fifth position with 25 games lost. Chiba Jets will again meet at home Hitachi SRT (#5) in the next round. Hitachi SRT will have a break next round.
