Regular Season Round 60: Gunma CT - Niigata A. 85-79

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Gunma CT (23-28) won against at home 11th ranked Niigata A. (5-44) 85-79 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Gunma CT looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The winners were led by American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-1990, college: Miami, FL) who scored that evening 26 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and Czech center Ondrej Balvin (217-1992, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 14 points and 17 rebounds. Five Gunma CT players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 34 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds by American forward Jeff Ayres (206-1987, college: Arizona St.) did not help to save the game for Niigata A.. Filipino guard Kobe Paras (198-1997, college: CSUN) added 21 points and 7 rebounds. Niigata A.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gunma CT have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Gunma CT maintains seventh position with 23-28 record. Niigata A. lost fifteenth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 44 games lost. Gunma CT will meet Ibaraki R. (#10) in the next round. Niigata A. will play against Yokohama BC and hope to secure a win.
