Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Shinshu BW (25-26) edged 11th ranked San-en NP (10-45) in Nagano 88-85 on Sunday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Shinshu BW made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game, while San-en NP only scored ten points from the stripe. Shinshu BW looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by point guard Ko Kumagai (173-1996) who scored that evening 21 points and 6 assists and American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) supported him with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Even 23 points by German center Elias Harris (203-1989, college: Gonzaga, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for San-en NP.
