Regular Season Round 20: Kings - Steelers 80-100

Very important is a loss of third ranked Kings (15-11) against fifth ranked Steelers (9-19) on Saturday night. Kings were crushed by Steelers 100-80. Steelers forced 19 Kings turnovers and outrebounded them 56-36 including a 43-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by Canadian forward Anthony Bennett (203-1993, college: UNLV) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 28 points and 20 rebounds and point guard Yu-Wei Chen (183-1999) supported him with 18 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Five Steelers players scored in double figures. Even 24 points by the former international guard Chin-Min Yang (190-1984) did not help to save the game for Kings. American forward Deandre Liggins (198-1988, college: Kentucky) added 9 points and 12 rebounds for Steelers. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Steelers have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Steelers maintains fifth position with 9-19 record. Kings lost fifth consecutive game. Kings at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourth place with 11 games lost. Steelers will play against bottom-ranked Pilots (#6) in Taoyuan in the next round. Kings' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Taipei Fubon Braves.
