Regular Season Round 59: Shimane SM - Shiga L-Stars 97-56
Date: April 29, 2022
There was no surprise when 9th ranked Shiga L-Stars (14-39) were crushed on the road by second ranked Shimane SM (39-13) 97-56 on Friday. Shimane SM outrebounded Shiga L-Stars 49-27 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Shiga L-Stars' players. It was a great evening for American forward Perrin Buford (198-1994, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international power forward Nyika Williams (203-1987, college: Pacific) helped adding 11 points and 11 rebounds. American power forward Sean OMara (208-1995, college: Xavier, agency: Inception Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Novar Gadson (201-1989, college: Rider) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Shimane SM. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Kawasaki BT. Shiga L-Stars lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth place with 39 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
