Regular Season Round 55: Chiba - Shizuoka 109-106

The most exciting game of round 55 in the B3 League took place in Chiba. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Shizuoka (33-10) to third ranked Chiba (34-7) 109-106 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the 15-game winning streak of Shizuoka. They outrebounded Shizuoka 51-38 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Chiba looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists. 33 personal fouls committed by Shizuoka helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American power forward Evan Ravenel (204-1989, college: Ohio St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-1989, college: St.Mary's, TX) helped adding 18 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. Chiba's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American center Ryan Stephan (208-1994, college: CMU) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and Beninese power forward Muusa Dama (207-1996, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) scored 29 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Five Chiba and four Shizuoka players scored in double figures. Chiba moved-up to second place. Shizuoka at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Chiba are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Kanazawa (#15) in Ishikawa in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Shizuoka will have a break next round.
