There was no surprise in Kariya where 6th ranked Shinshu BW (23-25) was defeated by fourth ranked Sea Horses M. (27-19) 81-72 on Sunday. Sea Horses M. made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Anthony Lawrence II (201-1996, college: Miami, FL, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up and scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and power forward Davante Gardner (203-1991, college: Marquette) chipped in 18 points. Four Sea Horses M. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and center Wayne Marshall (211-1986, college: Temple) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Shinshu BW's coach Michael Katsuhisa tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sea Horses M. maintains fourth place with 27-19 record. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the sixth position with 25 games lost. Sea Horses M. will meet Shiga L-Stars (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
