Regular Season Round 57: Ryukyu GK - Shimane SM 71-68

Second-ranked Shimane SM (36-13) made lots of trouble for first ranked Ryukyu GK (44-5) in Okinawa on Sunday. Ryukyu GK managed to secure only three-point victory 71-68. However their fans expected easier game. Ryukyu GK made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Dwayne Evans (201-1992, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import power forward Allen Durham (198-1988, college: Grace Christian) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Perrin Buford (198-1994, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and Australian Nick Kay (206-1992, college: MSU Denver) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Ryukyu GK maintains first place with 44-5 record. Shimane SM at the other side keeps the second position with 13 games lost. Ryukyu GK are looking forward to face Osaka E. (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shimane SM will play against Toyama G. (#7) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
