Regular Season Round 55: Toyama G. - Shiga L-Stars 81-89

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Toyama G. (20-32) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Shiga L-Stars (13-35) 89-81 on Wednesday. Shiga L-Stars made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. American forward Novar Gadson (201-1989, college: Rider) fired 29 points and 7 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Kiefer Isaac Ravena (181-1993) chipped in 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws). American forward Brice Johnson (206-1994, college: UNC) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-1990, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Four Shiga L-Stars and five Toyama G. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to ninth place. Toyama G. lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 32 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will meet at home higher ranked Hiroshima D. (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toyama G. will play against Kyoto H. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
