Regular Season Round 18: Lioneers - Kings 123-116

An exciting game was when Second ranked Lioneers faced top-ranked Kings. Lioneers (15-9) defeated Kings (15-8) 123-116. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Lioneers dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Kings' 42. They outrebounded Kings 60-46 including a 44-33 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lioneers looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Indian-Canadian center Sim Bhullar (226-1992, college: NM State) had a double-double by scoring 50 points (!!!), 32 rebounds and 5 assists (on 17-of-21 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Yun-Hao Chu (194-1997) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Chin-Min Yang (190-1984) with 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and the former international power forward Quincy Davis (203-1983, college: Tulane) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lioneers have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 15-9 record having just one point less than leader Kings, which they share with Fubon Braves. Newly promoted Kings still keep top place with eight games lost. Lioneers will again meet league's leader Kings in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kings will play against Steelers in Kaohsiung and hope to secure a win.
