Regular Season Round 58: Tokyo Z - Koshigaya A. 71-84

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tokyo: Koshigaya A. (#4) and Tokyo Z (#6). Tokyo Z was defeated at home 71-84 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Koshigaya A. had a 38-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Craig Brackins (208-1987, college: Iowa St., agency: SDJ Sports) scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Isaac Butts (208-1989, college: App State) chipped in 14 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Five Koshigaya A. players scored in double figures. Koshigaya A.'s coach Sho Higashijima used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side center Joshua Crawford (211-1988, college: Indiana St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 19 rebounds and forward Pat Andree (203-1997, college: NC State) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Koshigaya A. (25-19) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position. Tokyo Z lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 41 games lost. Koshigaya A. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tokyo Z will play on the road against Aomori W. (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
