B1 League top team - Alvark Tokyo (36-9) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat seventh ranked Gunma CT (19-26) 80-72. Spanish forward Sebastian Saiz (205-1994, college: Ole Miss) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and American center Alex Kirk (211-1991, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Five Alvark Tokyo players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds by naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-1981, college: Evergreen St.) did not help to save the game for Gunma CT. American power forward Justin Keenan (202-1989, college: Ferris St.) added 18 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alvark Tokyo have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 36-9 record. Newly promoted Gunma CT keeps the seventh place with 26 games lost. Alvark Tokyo will meet Nagoya DD (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Gunma CT will play against Ibaraki R. (#10) in Mito and hope to secure a win.
