Date: April 17, 2022
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Kawasaki BT (35-12) crushed on the road 5th ranked Hiroshima D. (23-25) 106-77 on Sunday. Kawasaki BT dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Hiroshima D.'s 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Hiroshima D.'s players. The former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-1985, college: Nevada) notched 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and American power forward Jordan Heath (208-1991, college: Canisius, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Five Kawasaki BT players scored in double figures. Even 9 points and 12 rebounds by American center Charles Jackson (208-1993, college: Tenn Tech) did not help to save the game for Hiroshima D.. His fellow American import forward Nick Mayo (206-1997, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) added 16 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kawasaki BT will meet Tochigi Brex (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hiroshima D. will play against Yokohama BC and hope to secure a win.
