Regular Season Round 52: Gifu - Shinagawa 96-86

No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Gifu (18-27) defeated at home 14th ranked Shinagawa (6-39) 96-86 on Saturday. Gifu looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Jayce Johnson (213-1997, college: Marquette) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds and the other American import forward Jerrell Wright (204-1991, college: La Salle) who added 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Gifu players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Shogo Taira (170-1997) responded with 31 points and American center CJ Gettys (213-1994, college: Rutgers, agency: Haylett Sports) produced a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Shinagawa's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Gifu maintains tenth position with 18-27 record. Newly promoted Shinagawa keeps the fourteenth place with 39 games lost. Gifu will again meet at home Shinagawa (#14) in the next round. Shinagawa will have a break next round.
