Regular Season Round 53: San-en NP - Kyoto H. 88-87

There was a small surprise in Hamamatsu where eleventh ranked San-en NP (9-39) edged 9th ranked Kyoto H. (13-36) 88-87 on Saturday. San-en NP looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. German center Elias Harris (203-1989, college: Gonzaga, agency: BeoBasket) stepped up and scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Nigerian power forward Peter Okoye (208-2001, agency: Domantay Sports) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four San-en NP players scored in double figures. American center David Simon (208-1982, college: PFW) responded with 27 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Justin Harper (208-1989, college: Richmond) scored 29 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. San-en NP maintains eleventh place with 9-39 record. Kyoto H. lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 36 games lost. San-en NP will again meet at home higher ranked Kyoto H. (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kyoto H. will have a break next round.
