Regular Season Round 57: Tokyo Z - Koshigaya A. 81-113

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Tokyo: Koshigaya A. (#4) and Tokyo Z (#6). Tokyo Z was crushed at home by 32 points 81-113 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Koshigaya A. outrebounded Tokyo Z 51-37 including 36 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 35 assists. American forward Cherif Sow (201-1992) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import Craig Brackins (208-1987, college: Iowa St., agency: SDJ Sports) chipped in 22 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Koshigaya A.'s coach Sho Higashijima felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American center Joshua Crawford (211-1988, college: Indiana St.) with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Shinya Takagi (187-1997) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Koshigaya A.. They maintain fourth place with 24-19 record. Tokyo Z lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 40 games lost. Koshigaya A. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tokyo Z's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face again at home their local rival from Tokyo Koshigaya A..
