No shocking result in a game when second ranked Kawasaki BT (34-12) defeated on the road 5th ranked Hiroshima D. (23-24) 89-81 on Saturday. They outrebounded Hiroshima D. 40-27 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Kawasaki BT looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American-Georgian Matt Janning (195-1988, college: Northeastern) stepped up and scored 26 points for the winners and the former international point guard Yuma Fujii (178-1991) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Kawasaki BT's coach Kenji Sato used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Charles Jackson (208-1993, college: Tenn Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and the former international point guard Ryo Terashima (179-1997) scored 23 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kawasaki BT maintains second place with 34-12 record behind leader Ryukyu GK. Loser Hiroshima D. keeps the fifth position with 24 games lost. Kawasaki BT will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
