Regular Season Round 53: Ryukyu GK - Nagoya DD 97-65

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Okinawa. First ranked Ryukyu GK faced 3rd placed Nagoya DD. Host Ryukyu GK (42-4) smashed guests from Nagoya (26-13) 97-65. Ryukyu GK dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Nagoya DD's 30. They outrebounded Nagoya DD 39-20 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ryukyu GK shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The former international guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-1990) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points. American power forward Allen Durham (198-1988, college: Grace Christian) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. American power forward Scott Eatherton (206-1991, college: Northeastern, agency: BeoBasket) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Coty Clarke (201-1992, college: Arkansas) added 17 points and 5 assists in the effort for Nagoya DD. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ryukyu GK have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with 42-4 record. Nagoya DD at the other side keeps the third position with 13 games lost.
