Regular Season Round 52: Shimane SM - Hiroshima D. 84-91

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Shimane SM (35-11) against fifth ranked Hiroshima D. (23-23) on Sunday night. Host Shimane SM was defeated by Hiroshima D. in a tough game in Shimane 84-91. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Shimane SM. Hiroshima D. made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international point guard Ryo Terashima (179-1997) fired 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-1987, college: Detroit) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Hiroshima D.'s coach Kyle Milling used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Australian Nick Kay (206-1992, college: MSU Denver) produced 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and the former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-1989) added 26 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hiroshima D. maintains fifth position with 23-23 record. Loser Shimane SM keeps the second place with 11 games lost. Hiroshima D. will meet at home league's second-placed Kawasaki BT in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Shimane SM will play against Shinshu BW in Nagano and hope to secure a win.
