Regular Season Round 51: Hitachi SRT - Gunma CT 78-70

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Hitachi SRT's (25-22) home victory over 7th ranked Gunma CT (18-24) in Tokyo 78-70 on Saturday. Hitachi SRT forced 22 Gunma CT turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Kevin Jones (206-1989, college: WVU) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. International point guard Leo Vendrame (183-1993) accounted for 16 points and 4 assists for the winning side. The former international guard Aki Chambers (190-1990, college: UC Merced) came up with 28 points and 4 steals and naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-1981, college: Evergreen St.) added 15 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Gunma CT in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Hitachi SRT. They maintain sixth place with 25-22 record. Newly promoted Gunma CT keeps the seventh position with 24 games lost. Hitachi SRT will again meet at home Gunma CT (#7) in the next round. Gunma CT will have a break next round.
