Regular Season Round 51: Shimane SM - Hiroshima D. 89-67
Date: April 9, 2022
Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Hiroshima D. (22-23) was outscored on the road by second ranked Shimane SM (35-10) 89-67 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Perrin Buford (198-1994, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 8 assists. Australian Nick Kay (206-1992, college: MSU Denver) accounted for 19 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. American center Charles Jackson (208-1993, college: Tenn Tech) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and the former international swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-1989) added 11 points and 7 assists respectively for Hiroshima D. in the defeat. Five Shimane SM and four Hiroshima D. players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Shimane SM. They maintain second place with 35-10 record having just five point less than leader Ryukyu GK. Loser Hiroshima D. keeps the fifth position with 23 games lost. Shimane SM will again meet at home Hiroshima D. (#5) in the next round. Hiroshima D. will have a break next round.
