Regular Season Round 16: Steelers - Fubon Braves 97-113

Very expected game when 6th ranked Steelers (5-17) lost to second ranked Fubon Braves (14-8) 97-113 on Monday. Fubon Braves dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Steelers' 26. They outrebounded Steelers 59-43 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Fubon Braves looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The winners were led by Ukrainian power forward Igor Zaytsev (210-1989, agency: BIG) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 28 points and 18 rebounds and American forward Michael Singletary (198-1988, college: Texas Tech) supported him with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Singletary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a triple-double of 27 points, 17 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals by American swingman Taylor Braun (201-1991, college: NDSU) did not help to save the game for Steelers. The former international forward Cheng-Ju Lu (194-1986) added 17 points for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fubon Braves maintains second position with 14-8 record having just two point less than leader Kings. Steelers lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 17 games lost. Fubon Braves will meet Lioneers (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Steelers will play against Pilots and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
