Regular Season Round 54: Fukushima - Tokyo Z 77-55
Date: April 3, 2022
The game between third ranked Fukushima (31-15) and 6th ranked Tokyo Z (8-39) in Fukushima on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Fukushima outscored guests from Tokyo 77-55. Fukushima forced 22 Tokyo Z turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-1990, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) to lead the effort and Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-1990, college: Florida) supported him with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds by American center Joshua Crawford (211-1988, college: Indiana St.) did not help to save the game for Tokyo Z. His fellow American import forward Pat Andree (203-1997, college: NC State) added 14 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fukushima used an opportunity after Kumamoto V. lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Tokyo Z lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 39 games lost. Fukushima will meet Aomori W. (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Tokyo Z will play against Fukuoka R. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
