Regular Season Round 49: Hiroshima D. - Shinshu BW 77-84

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Hiroshima D. (21-22) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Shinshu BW (21-24) 84-77 on Sunday. Shinshu BW shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Shinshu BW made 7 blocks. American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Yuta Okada (189-1998) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. American forward Nick Mayo (206-1997, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import center Charles Jackson (208-1993, college: Tenn Tech) added 6 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Shinshu BW maintains sixth place with 21-24 record. Hiroshima D. lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 22 games lost. Shinshu BW will meet Kyoto H. (#9) on the road in the next round. Hiroshima D. will play against Shiga L-Stars (#10) and hope to secure a win.
