Regular Season Round 48: Ibaraki R. - Chiba Jets 63-92

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Chiba Jets (26-7) crushed 10th ranked Ibaraki R. (13-30) in Mito 92-63. Chiba Jets dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Ibaraki R.'s 22. They outrebounded Ibaraki R. 39-25 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Chiba Jets players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. American players dominated also this game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Christopher Smith (193-1994, college: Utah St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and power forward Josh Duncan (203-1986) who added 12 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Chiba Jets' coach Atsushi Ono felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Eric Jacobsen (208-1994, college: Arizona St.) with 15 points and 7 rebounds and forward Chehales Tapscott (195-1990, college: Portland St.) scored 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Ibaraki R. keeps the tenth position with 30 games lost. Chiba Jets will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ibaraki R. will play again at home against Chiba Jets (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
