Regular Season Round 52: Koshigaya A. - Fukushima 92-75

The most important game in the last round took place in Tokyo between third ranked Fukushima (29-15) and fourth ranked Koshigaya A. (21-19) on Sunday night. Fukushima was defeated by Koshigaya A. on the road 92-75. Koshigaya A. dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Fukushima's 30. They outrebounded Fukushima 52-36 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Cherif Sow (201-1992) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. The other American import center Isaac Butts (208-1989, college: App State) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds. Four Koshigaya A. players scored in double figures. American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-1990, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-1990, college: Florida) added 21 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Koshigaya A. maintains fourth position with 21-19 record. Fukushima at the other side dropped to the second place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Kagawa FA. Koshigaya A. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fukushima will play at home against Tokyo Z and is hoping to win this game.
