Top ranked Fubon Braves (13-7) recorded its seventh loss against second ranked Kings on Saturday night. Kings were defeated by second ranked Kings (12-6) 107-99. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Fubon Braves. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Kings looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Thomas Welsh (213-1996, college: UCLA) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The former international guard Kai-Yen Lee (182-1993) chipped in 10 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Michael Singletary (198-1988, college: Texas Tech) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and Ukrainian power forward Igor Zaytsev (210-1989, agency: BIG) added 22 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Five Kings and four Fubon Braves players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kings have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Kings maintains second place with 12-6 record behind leader Fubon Braves. Fubon Braves at the other side still keep top position with seven games lost. Kings are looking forward to face Dreamers (#3) in Changhua in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Fubon Braves will play on the road against Steelers in Kaohsiung and are hoping to win this game.
