National League top team - Astana (19-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Caspiy Aktau (3-13) in Nur-Sultan 85-41. Astana dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Caspiy Aktau's 20. They outrebounded Caspiy Aktau 38-19 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American power forward Skylar Spencer (206-1994, college: SDSU) who scored that evening 10 points and 9 rebounds and international center Robert Pan (202-1995) supported him with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Even 10 points by center Semyon Pinaev (208-1999) did not help to save the game for Caspiy Aktau. Russian guard Alexander Kalenov (196-1987) added 3 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Astana have an impressive 18-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 19-0 record. Caspiy Aktau at the other side stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. Astana will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Caspiy Aktau will play on the road against Tobol (#4) in Kostanay and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
